Join us for a packed week of spooky activities in our family friendly Halloween week. We've got lots of great events to get you in the Halloween spirit, from Magical Mushroom Crafts to Woodland Wizards, Fairy Fest and many more. You'll find our full October half term programme of events and beyond listed below.

SOLD OUT - Please note that due to overwhelming demand our Family Fright Night on Friday 31st October has sold out. Most of our activities need to be booked in advance, so please book early to avoid disappointment.

Fungi Ecology & Identification

 

Sat 25th October

 

An introduction to the identification of fungi and their role in the ecosystem. Indoor microscopic examination followed by a forest foray to search for fungi in their natural habitats.

 

10:00am - 4:00pm. £30 per person (price includes Wildwood entry fees). Minimum age for this course is 18yrs.

Magical Mushroom Crafts

 

Mon 27th October

 

Get into the Hallowe’en spirit with this mushroom-themed children’s workshop. Discover the fascinating world of fungi, create spore prints and make crafts to take home.

 

1.30pm - 2.30pm. £2 per person, one adult free per group*. Must Book.

Photography Day

Tue 28th October

 

A day of wildlife photography with expert tuition from our resident photographer. You will have the chance to photograph different animals across the day, with animal feeds for the more elusive animals. Suitable for all levels and abilities. Gift vouchers also available. We are now able to accept 16 & 17 year olds on our photography days.

 

9am - 4pm. £79 per person. Min 16yrs. Must book.

Woodland Wizards

 

Tue 28th October

 

A spell-binding craft event to make your own wizards’ hats, magic potions and brooms in time for Hallowe’en. Can you make the spookiest hat?

Fairy Fest

 

Wed 29th October

 

Come dressed as a fairy, imp, goblin or other magical creature (there will be prizes for the most imaginative costumes), have your face painted and make a fairy wand, crown and scroll of wishes to post in the fairy postbox.

Hallowe’en Crafts

 

Thurs 30th & Fri 31st October

 

Our most popular annual craft event. Decorate your home with witches’ cats, rats, pumpkins and bats for a super spooky Hallowe’en. Book early to avoid disappointment.

Grubby Gang

 

Sat 1st November & Sat 15th November

 

Let your kids go wild in the woodland. Learn about animals and nature with different activities each week; including games, dens, bushcraft and mud sculptures. Parents need not attend.

 

1st & 3rd Saturday of each month (approx). 9.45am 12.15pm. 7-11yrs. £8 per child, per session. Must book. Book 3 sessions, get 4th FREE.

Donate your hallowe’en pumpkin for us to feed to our animals on Sunday. Prizes for the best.

Wolf Workshop 1: Life in The Pack - Wolf Ecology & Behaviour

 

Sun 9th November

 

Part 1 of 2 wolf workshops this autumn. This one looks at the wolf pack, how wolves communicate and conservation efforts to restore them back to their former range. Includes a visit to see Wildwood’s own European wolves.

 

10.30am - 4pm. £30 per person. Must book. Book together with Wolf course 2 (23rd Nov) for £50.

Junior Zoo Keeper

Do you know a budding zoo keeper? Let them discover what it’s like to work as a keeper at Wildwood and how we care for our animals to keep them happy and healthy.

Wolf Workshop 2: Understanding the Wolf Inside Your Dog

 

Sun 23rd November

 

Part 2 of 2 wolf workshops. Understand how your dog’s behaviour is an echo of his wild wolf ancestry. With dog trainer Dave Butcher and wolf expert Anne Riddell. Includes a visit to see Wildwood’s own European wolves.

* Membership or entrance fees must be paid to attend events. Excludes photo/keeper days & courses/workshops.

  • All events must be paid for at the time of booking and are non refundable (except if cancelled by Wildwood).

  • All under 18’s MUST be accompanied by an adult.

  • Must Book - Limited space events that must be booked in advance.

  • Free Event - Events that do not attract any additional fee except for usual membership or admission into the park.
