Wildwood's Director, Peter Smith said:

We must act now to save these woods from being snapped up by greedy developers, which would mean the intricate diversity of wildlife habitats could be lost forever.”

“It is an appalling fact that only 2% of our land in the UK is ancient woodland and 85% of that woodland has no proper legal protection. Even the 15% of the woodland that is protected, is not safe when landowners destroying it face few legal consequences.”

We must act now

Wildwood have already secured the right to purchase the woodland over 5 years, but with less than two weeks to pay the next instalment of £11,500, we could lose this woodland! Your donation today will help to ensure that this ancient woodland, and all the wildlife within it, remain protected forever.

South Hoath Wood is a relic of the original, ancient, wild woods that once covered Britain.  It is now part of the largest concentration of ancient semi-natural woodland and conifer plantations left in England. The woodland is of national and international significance, receiving the highest conservation designations including Site of Special Scientific Interest, Special Area of Conservation and National Nature Reserve.

Thank you so much for your continued support, as a charity we do rely on donations to be able to continue protecting our woodland and wildlife and with your help we really can make a difference! If you have any questions relating to this appeal, please don't hesitate to contact us.
